ILL Services for Distance Students

Current UC distance education students and faculty may use our Article Request service free of charge

What is the Article Request Service?

We will send you copies of articles that are held by UC Library.  If our library does not own the journal, we will request the article for you from another library.

Obtain a journal article citation

• Go to our Research Tutorial for more help finding articles

Check to see if the journal article you need is available full text online:

• Search the E-Journal Portal by journal title:

• If the volume and issue you need are available, select the link and gain access to the full text article online

• If the volume and issue you need are not available:  Place an InterLibrary Loan Request
   
• You will receive an electronic copy of the article in 3 - 5 days.  

• Whenever possible, we prefer to deliver article requests as a PDF email attachment

• To ensure successful communication and document delivery, UC Library sends all official communication to your Utica College email account

About Your UC Email Account

• We appreciate your desire to use alternate email accounts but UC Library sends all official communication to your UC email account
• If you prefer to use an alternate primary email account, we recommend forwarding your UC Email to that account

UC Library does extend InterLibrary Loan (ILL) Book Request service to our distance education students and faculty:
 

• Utica College distance students may request books in the Library Catalog by sending an email to ill@utica.edu

• Many public libraries provide InterLibrary Loan services to patrons
• Use PublicLibraries.com to find a local library near you

Local College or University Libraries

 

While most college or university libraries do not extend ILL services to those not affiliated with their Institution, they do allow community members to:

 

• Use library materials on the premises 
  • Some libraries might offer library cards to community members that allow you to borrow materials

 

• Make use of research and/or reference services
