Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program Celebrates Class of 2024, Welcomes Class of 2030

Since the program’s inception in 1993, YSLPP has helped thousands of local students to achieve academic success, pursue higher education, and achieve lifelong success.

Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program (YSLPP), a collaborative program between Utica University and the Utica City School District (UCSD), celebrated its class of 2024 during a ceremony at Utica University on Wednesday, May 29.

The 46 graduating Young Scholars are graduating Proctor High School seniors. Upon entering middle school, they were identified through a rigorous selection process for their academic potential. Throughout their middle school and high school careers, the Young Scholars participated in a comprehensive, year-round program of intensive academic support along with cultural and social enrichment.

Since the program’s inception in 1993, YSLPP has helped thousands of local students to achieve academic success, pursue higher education, and achieve lifelong success. At any given time, there are upwards of 360 Young Scholars in grades 7-12 in the UCSD.

“Our senior ceremony is a bittersweet day as we celebrate our graduating Young Scholars and their accomplishments,” said YSLPP Executive Director, Jordan Peters. “While we are excited to see what they will accomplish in their lives, we always remind them as they transition from students to alumni that they will always be a part of the Young Scholars family.”

Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program (YSLPP) also welcomed its incoming class of 2030 during a ceremony at Utica University on Thursday, May 16.

The 70 incoming Young Scholars are rising 7th graders within the UCSD who were identified, through a rigorous selection process, for their academic potential. The incoming students will join more than 300 Young Scholars peers in grades 7-12 participating in a comprehensive, year-round program which provides intensive academic support along with cultural and social enrichment. Since the program’s inception in 1993, YSLPP has helped thousands of local students to achieve academic success, pursue higher education, and achieve lifelong success.

“It is an honor to welcome the Young Scholars Class of 2030, which has already accomplished so much, into our program,” said YSLPP Executive Director, Jordan Peters. “Our main message to this group is to remind them that they will always receive the support they need from Young Scholars as they encounter the inevitable challenges of junior high, high school, and even higher education.”
