Biography
Dorothy Obernesser teaches composition courses and introduction to literature courses at UC, is the Director of English Placement, and is the Director of the Writing Center. Obernesser teaches all of her classes with the goal of strengthening not only writing skills, but critical thinking skills. As the Director of English Placement, she works with the Student Enrollment Office and the Registrar’s Office to oversee placement of students in appropriate composition courses. As the Director of the Writing Center, she works with writing tutors and the other centers located in the Learning Commons to assist students in need of tutoring services. As the Director of the Writing Center, she also became an active member of IWCA (International Writing Centers Association).
